| US major stock indexes concluded Friday’s trading session largely in negative territory, pressured by sustained selling in the technology sector and escalating oil prices amid the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict. The benchmark S&P 500 finished at -0.5%, while the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite decreased by -0.2%, and the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average registered a decline of -1.2%. Over the course of the week, the S&P 500 retreated -0.5%, the Nasdaq Composite decreased 0.7%, and the Dow advanced 0.4%. West Texas Intermediate crude oil reached a multi month high above $100 per barrel, reflecting volatility in the Middle East following a Houthi rebel attack on Saudi energy infrastructure. |
