| Gold recovered above $4,200 an ounce in Asian trading Tuesday, though it remained within a constrained range, influenced by a robust US dollar and ambiguity surrounding the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy trajectory. International bullion futures have demonstrated volatility, oscillating between $4,091 and $4,259 during October, maintaining a trading band below $200 and indicating a prospective breakout. The dollar index advanced to an 18-month peak proximate to 102 as investors anticipate US CPI data Wednesday and PPI data Thursday, while heightened Middle East tensions continued to bolster safe-haven demand. On MCX, December gold futures exhibited largely unchanged performance below Rs.1,50,000 per 10 grams, pending fresh directional signals from the market. |
