| Gold maintained proximity to $4,200 per ounce on Tuesday following a test of a two-month low, as a robust US dollar and elevated Treasury yields exerted downward pressure on the metal, despite a moderation in US jobs data and diminished prospects for an October Federal Reserve rate increase. The dollar index remained proximate to 102, bolstered by a depreciated euro reflecting mounting fiscal and political anxieties in France and Spain. Gold still advanced approximately 4% in Q3 despite a roughly 7% September contraction, underpinned by central-bank acquisitions, ETF inflows and geopolitical hazards. On MCX, December gold futures increased 0.26% to Rs.1,49,708 per 10 grams, with rupee depreciation offsetting the monthly downturn. |
