Gold tanks as Investors go wary of hawkish Fed Back

Gold futures declined toward $4,300 an ounce in Asia electronic trading on Thursday, amplifying the prior session’s downturn as a resilient dollar and escalating Treasury yields exerted downward pressure on bullion. Robust US private-sector data renewed inflation anxieties and solidified expectations for additional Fed rate increases, with multiple officials endorsing last week’s hike while noting ongoing price pressures. The dollar index remained proximate to 101, its highest level in nearly two months, while a roughly 3% recovery in oil contributed to inflationary risks amid Iran’s resolute position regarding the Strait of Hormuz. MCX October gold futures were valued 0.5% lower at Rs.150,591 per 10 grams.
