| Policy must facilitate innovation’s expansion while reinforcing accountability and resilience, stated RBI Deputy Governor Rohit Jain on Wednesday. The aim of policy is to foster conditions conducive to the responsible development of beneficial innovation, he articulated at the Global Fintech Fest 2026. "This necessitates well-defined boundaries where risks are discernible, space for exploration as they continue to surface, and the capacity to adjust the framework in response to the evolution of technology and its applications. Effective policy should enable innovation to flourish, while ensuring that accountability and resilience advance in tandem," he said. Each technological advancement broadens the scope of human capabilities. The present opportunity lies in ensuring that this wave expands not only what finance can achieve, but also how finance can serve its constituents more effectively. Attaining this will allow emerging technology to contribute not solely to innovation, but to the broader purpose of finance itself, he further observed. |
