Stronger Yen sends Japanese markets mixed Back

The Nikkei 225 fell 0.17% to 64,214, while the Topix gained 0.5% to 4,102 as Japanese shares showed mixed trends. The yen strengthened sharply due to speculation about a rate check by authorities. This stronger yen pressured export-focused companies by lowering overseas earnings and raising costs for foreign investors. Shares saw some support from lower oil prices after President Donald Trump indicated that the attacks on Iran would be short-lived. Global bond yields eased as investors considered inflation and interest rates. Notable stock movements included Advantest down 0.8%, while Mitsubishi UFJ rose 1.9%.
