| The US stock markets on Friday declined after Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh hinted at a possible rate hike due to ongoing high inflation. The Dow Jones closed at 53,559.99, down 0.02%, or 9.45 points. The S&P 500 finished at 7,711.76, down 0.25%, or 19.23 points, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped to 26,402.42, down 0.52%, or 138.93 points. The Dow is up about 2% this month. Warsh stated further monetary actions might be necessary if inflation remains high. |
