MCX Gold futures are trading on a weak note today. The benchmark Dec-26 contract is lower by 1.42% at Rs 140573 per 10 grams. The intraday range was Rs 140559-142574 per 10 grams.The counter has eased 0.50% over last one-week.The open interest in the counter surged by 2.92% to 16060 lots.

Silver is substantially lower by 3.72% at Rs 182400 per kg. The open interest in the counter edged up by 1.67% to 18156 lots. The metal lost 2.51% in last session.

In global equities, US markets are expected to open in red. DOW futures have edged lower 0.08%. In Europe, FTSE 100 moved up 0.15% and CAC 40 remained flat.
